About This Recipe
Revani is a dessert with a victory story. It was invented by Ottoman palace cooks to celebrate the conquest of Yerevan (Revan) in Armenia and Azerbaijan in the 17th century.
It is a staple in almost every Turkish home because it is simple yet elegant. The semolina gives it a unique grainy texture that absorbs the syrup perfectly without becoming mushy. It is traditionally garnished with coconut flakes or ground pistachios.
