About This Recipe
Açma is a traditional Turkish bread made from a yeast dough, shaped into rings, brushed with egg wash, and baked until golden brown. Its soft and fluffy texture makes it ideal for breakfast, tea, or as a snack.
This recipe is flexible: you can enjoy it plain or add optional fillings such as chocolate, hazelnut paste, fruit preserves, or savory spreads like olive paste. Seeds such as sesame or nigella can also be sprinkled on top for added flavor.
Chef’s Tip:
Let the dough rise sufficiently for a fluffy texture. Brushing with egg wash ensures a beautiful golden color. If adding fillings, seal the edges carefully to prevent leakage during baking.
